Are you ready for a bandwidth increase? You may want to make sure you don't pay a lot for tons of traffic for just a couple of days.

There are some clips available on their website that might give you an idea what to expect.

Uh-hum, I would heed the advice from korkus2000. I've been involved with something similar years ago and fortunately I was working with a group of professionals who realized the possible issues.

The day the show aired, there were 8 technicians in the cage with the servers hosting this site. Sure enough, as soon as the URI was announced on that show, alarms started going off everywhere. I wasn't there to experience it in real time, but based on the background noise I heard while speaking to my contact, I'd say that they had a major issue on their hands controlling it all, which they did.

Remember, this was a few years ago. Things have improved since then. But, with a show like Good Morning America, you are talking millions of viewers.

You are going to need a Five-Point Harness for this undertaking. ;)

P.S. A big congrats to you!

hmm bandwidth increase, well I diddent know the show, I can see I have to do some work.

Did you say millions, damn on one day, how much bandwidth is that, I know my other sites only recieve about 23000 uniques a day.

Thanks everybody, but I take it cool because you never know what happens.

"Did you say millions"

It's the #2 US morning show.. I think they average 4 million+ daily viewers. Depending on the general appeal of your product and the placement it gets in the show you could see some decent traffic...

Wow! Very nice opportunity!

As everyone has already warned... inform your hosts cause you will see a "small" *read a measurable percentage of the free world* spike in bandwidth ;)

That show is huge! Seriously.

The site I work for has been featured several times on TV, and we were on GMA last year for several segments over the course of a month.

We saw our traffic double or triple in the hour we were on and for a brief period after, but it always fell back to normal within 3 hours after the show ended. We were featured as the content and organizers of an event they were doing so it had no impact on sales, and was only done as a brand building exercise for us.

I can tell you we may have gotten a 10-20k visit incremental boost everytime we aired, but that is just a ballpark figure from the back of my head.

Featuring a product is an entirely different beast than our experience so you could be in for a much different ride, just get ready for an immediate slam in traffic.

OK here is the story so far:

I have talked to my sources in the US so they send the products to the show from my site, because they wanted it the day after.
Then I had some conversation with the producer of the show, that person is in action all the time, Im happy I dont have that job.
He got the products yesterday, so thats great, but I dont know if Im gonna benefit of this, maybe they just mention the products and a little review, so Im not that up in the skys about this.

I also got the day when they will show it, so I could be ready if something should happen, but maybe that date/day will change, who knows.

thats it for now

Zeus,

We had something like that once. It turned out to be a scam. I hope yours works out. Good luck for massive traffic and big sales :-)

I just got a email from the producer today and he said that they hope they will have my products on the show this week, I think it is a kind of backup if nothing happens in USA.

thanks everyone for your good thoughts
