In this instance, I've been conducting some preliminary research into the VC and Merger/Acquisition market for Search Engine Optimization/Marketing firms or for "hybrid" firms that are involved with interactive advertising with SEO as one of several offerings.
Thus far I've had very little luck. Found some information about what appears to be the largest sum ever paid for an SEO firm, with the acquiring firm being a major player, but little else with regard to SEO firms being acquired or receiving venture capital.
I expected to find some among press release web sites, etc., but again, to not much avail.
Any resources would be much appreciated....stickymail me if the details are not allowed on the public board.
Thanks,
~Canton
1- The organic and grassroots nature of the SEO/M arena
2- The fragility of comparitive advantages/ proprietary knowledge from one SEO/M firm to another
3- The difference between SEO/M's services and SEO/M products.
Core investment is taking place on the product side, not on the service side, for what should be obvious reasons.
