Having only really read UK specific magazines such as Revolution and New Media Age in the past.

Can someone guide me to the main USA or Global industry specific publications which you would read as a webmaster or online marketer.

anyone, pretty please?

Shak

(I am not referring to technical publications, or home user magazines, strictly industry specific preferably subsription based)

This is basically a non-answer. Since Industry Standard went under I haven't found any that offer the same broad coverage of the Internet-related industry. Most I've seen are either too narrow in scope or just too tied in with associated trade shows produced by the publishing company.

(I was going to recommend Red Herring as a good high tech news mag with decent coverage of the Internet area, but after just being bombarded by pop-ups and requests to download not only something called 'memory meter' but Gator of all things -- uh uh.)

Just my 2 cents.

I was going to recommend Red Herring...

They went bankrupt three or so months ago, alas.

I was reading New Architect now and then. But I found myself questioning the quality- made me wonder what, beyond a writing degree, qualified some of these writers to expound upon the internet.

I end up reading a mix of mags, including pcworld, pcmag, various graphic design magazines-

In general, I find most offline media behind the curve.

I'm with martinibuster... it's been a while since I've paid much attention to anything about the web in offline magazines. Of the two I do look at from time to time, "Direct" and "Advertising Age" have had some OK web marketing-related content. "Direct," though, will plague you with their overly aggessive "opt-in" email... the price of a subscription... to me a demonstration of how not to do direct marketing. The online AdAge.com has replaced the print edition for me.

I regularly read "PC" Magazine... the product reviews are still pretty good. I haven't really looked at "Online" magazine (published by InfoToday), but I'm thinking it might be good, based on a sister publication of theirs, "eMedia," which is a great magazine on digital moving-media production, DVDs, etc. The InfoToday mags are free controlled-circulation publications, and you can sign up online.

Is Business 2 the sort of thing you mean, Shak?

To add to this unenthusiastic list... a friend suggested you might look at DM News (or Direct Marketing News), which is a Ziff-Davis publication and therefore probably pretty well produced. It incorporates Internet Marketing News, which folded as a separate magazine.
