Hello WebmasterWorld!

When you launch a new site do you submit press releases to sites about it? Have you used a press release announcement service or website to distribute your press releases? What kind of success have you seen with press release distribution? For the sites that charge for press release distribution has it been worth it, which one has worked well for you.

I submit my sites to vbwire.com and prweb.com which are free press release sites. I do not see other sites carrying their press releases as of yer, or atleast not my industry. These two sites are free, and have a nice ranking when it comes to links able to pass on your site and seem to get crawled by google often. These sites don't post every release, it must be written properly and not spammy. ie: dont submit a PR just for a link to a site that is used for pure spam tactics.

Hiya EliteWeb,

Funnily enough, I'm right in the middle of writing press release number 2, for my company.

I went with prweb and vbwire when I issued the first press release. They were the only free distrubution channels I could find. If anyone knows of other pr sites, could you please drop a line?

Another advantage of press releases is the added content to your own website. Create a small section that is dedicated to all the press releases you have issued.

Any press release you construct you should post on your site build within your template. I've found out when posting the news to sites some often want to link directly to the PR on my sites.
