Was wondering if I should get into a web hosting reseller program... Does anybody have any recommendations of some companies with good reseller programs.
Also, not sure what to tell my clients. I'd like to provide hosting, but I don't want to ACT like I'm a 24x7 Hosting company.
Should I just tell my clients I'm a reseller? And then tell them who the hosting company is? I'm worried that if I tell them I'm a reseller and disclose the hosting company that I'm reselling for, that they will go to their website and see their $9.95 hosting package that I'm charging them $12.95 for...
Hmmmm.... What do most people do?
Too many problems for way too little money, support queries, headaches etc etc.
Also make sure your contract with your clients is watertight and they cant take you to court for screw ups by your supplier.
this is just the tip off the iceberg :)
plenty more lucrative industries to look at.
Another possibility is to find a web-hosting company that will pay you a commission for signing people up, whether it be a one-time fee, or a small monthly cut of what they collect.
This way, you're not giving your customer the impression that you're providing the service, so if there are any issues, your customer won't see you as being responsible.
You asked for company recommendations.. but I'm not sure if we can post those in the forums. If you still want recommendations, sticky me and let me know.
