Re-opening of Do you check your bills carefully before paying?

A while back there was some criticism of a company that was sending individuals an "invoice" for SEO services or domain names, etc.

I just stumbled across a great article that states that a company such as this has been charged.

I normally check them, though not in thorough detail - but I know what the total price should be to the nearest £10 or so.

One company I worked at checked theirs thoroughly, one of their suppliers was struggling a lot so they started to send out duplicate invoices. Once the first had been paid, the second was sent. The amount of customers that actually paid twice was more than half when heard in court. The owner was sent to prison for a short time on fraud charges and had got other business restrictions applied.
