To all the uk people out there ......been recommended a seo company ...
Seem to be quite reasonable just wondering if anyone else has dealt with them?

If anyone has any info it would be appreciated.

thanx

Your profile says you are an SEO?
What's the story?

Torakai, we can for obvious reasons not go into discussing specifuc SEO companies at the SEO board No 1 ;)

Anyhow - the question is how to evaluate the services offered by an SEO.

Yes, references would be a good starting point. Preferably one or two that you could actually speak to.

Good search engine rankings that they can show you is another.

thanks guys

sorry for posting in the wrong place etc......

i am an seo for my finance company who paid for the training through the academy of web specialists. I am just starting the advanced course and i am also a web content developer.

I have attended a few SE conferences and just attended the webmasterworld conference in London. I have made a few enquires regarding this particular company and got no where really.

They dont seem to mention whether they optimise the pages as well, they just seem to submit them to SE's and they are asking a lot of money to do that, IMO.

Quick and dirty checklist:

Do they do Keyword Analysis
Do they check the structure of the site - themes etc
Do they check on page factors
Do they do submission planning (you don't want a company that just autosubmits)
Do they do linking campaigns

You really want a company that does all of these.

(P.S. If you've done a course in SEO - you probably have more qualifications in the subject than 99% of the people here.)

I shouldn't think they only submit to SE's. Afterall, you could train a couple of chimps to do that ;)

Have you talked to them? In my experience SEO's and other web types are used to the nervousness of clients and are generally happy to provide whatever is in their power to...

So just call them and see?
