Tax rating systems

New to this site, seems great. Hope this isn't an inappropriate post.

My company is entering into a relationship with a large brick and mortar to provide their e-commerce platform. Our legal department has determined that we are resposible for collection state and local taxes wherever that company has a nexus.

To handle the complex nature of state and local taxes we are reviewing 3 different tax rating systems. I will followup wiht a post with the names of them if that is not considered inappropriate (and after I double check the NDA to make sure I'm not breaking any rules).

That said, is anyone out there using any third party tax rating systems and are you happy with them. Do they provide easy to use API's? How detailed is the tracking and tax filing preparation?

Any help would be great, and like I said, if it isn't inappropriate, I will follow up with the company names once someone responds in regarding that.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, cmoewes.

I am not familiar with 3rd party tax rating systems, but this post will bump your thread to the top again, maybe someone else will.

>inappropriate

Great question, thank you for asking. Posting the names of the 3rd party systems would probably be inappropriate. Hopefully we can have a discussion of "things to pay attention to" when searching for a tax rating system provider, without naming names.

Anyone been through this?
