How to be listed in google

Hi, I'm trying one of my site to be listed in Google. Eventhough i have added meta tags, its not been listed atleast in the first 10 pages of the search results. Can anybody give me some hints for better resutls.

Forget meta tags.

You definitely want to increase your link popularity. You can either do that by hand or get help from link services. <domains snipped>

But the most important thing: You need to have a professional site, if you expect others to link to you :)
