Registered a domain for a US company in the U.S. last year, "companyname.com". Recently a UK company with the same corporate name registered "company-name.com" and are hosting in the US.

Interested in finding out if a foriegn company can host in the US under a registered US Corprate name, or where I can find info on this. How should this be handled? Suggestions welcome.

thanks

Sounds like it comes down to a trademark issue - you can find basic info at the USPTO - and a domain name issue, search for 'icann udrp'.

thanks for the response andye, I'm going to get started with the USPTO trademark, they say it takes a year to complete, but you only need a "pending" TM, to apply for an international one.

It's also worth looking at the ICANN UDRP, you may have a right to the domain name even though you don't (yet) have a registered trademark.
