Email delivery issues

Does anyone have a solution to overzealous spam filters?

Though its annoying and time consuming to delete it all at times, spam isn't hurting our business's bottom line... it's really the reaction to spam, i.e. the spam filters that are doing it. We run an email intensive business that relies on sending numerous quotes each day. These quotes must be sent and recevied relatively quickly to convert sales. Quotes regularly reach into the 10s of thousands and so even one lost email can cause a good sized loss.

We've periodically had problems with most emails (i.e. hotmail, yahoo, etc.) It seems to come and go.

Miscrosoft's solution is a paid service called Bonded Sender which looks more like licence to spam. Futhermore it only applies to hotmail. There may be others for Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, Prodigy, etc.

What steps should be taken to minimize this problem as there seems to be no such thing as a global white list for business email that one can register for.

We've take all the possible steps in terms of configuring our email server... now what to do?

I just wanted to add that the problem seems to be basically with hotmail.
