hi
i am working with a company as Offshore PHP Developer / Designer.
they paid me twice with cross check but as it takes a lot of time to be cashed so i asked them to either wire or use Western Union. now their accountant said that he would cut off the Transaction fee from my payments :-s...

just want to ask Seniors here that is it fair? and who usually pays the transaction fee Employer or Web Developer?.

thanks in advance

You pay it - just up your fee some to cover that expense

It's you that wants the money quicker, so I think it's fair enough that it's you who pays the extra fee to get the money quicker.

Paying by cheque (and the delay that involves) is SOP, I'd say - so if you want something different... you get my point.

One offshore company that I work with has a UK bank account for its clients (like us) who are over here, that way it's easy for them to get paid by us. Maybe you should think about something similar?

best,
a.
