Sell It or Keep It

In the face of diminishing returns due to time constraints...

The last few years I've built up a decent business. For the last 4 years I have just taken a modest salary (and the occasional toy) and my tuition, and put everything else back in to growing larger. In my first year of PG I am finding that I'm having to focus 90% of my efforts on academics.

Meanwhile, I've had to hire a manager to oversee a huge project that was financed by the sale of resource sites. In order to keep a decent working capital for the business, I completely cut my salary (after paying for tuition.) I was able to make a good buy this summer and pull a few grand a month out of it, but now, completely due to my inability to give it the attention it needs, income for that site has dropped to about 1k a month.

Sorry for the lengthy intro; the problem is this. It isn't in my best interest to divert working hours away from our current project -- which is already far behind schedule -- to increase traffic to my personal investment.

I can't decide whether to ride it out and hope for a solid few weeks of free time, or take a hit on a sale. Any input is appreciated...

Sell it, you may be able to reach the higher price for the site if you do it quickly. $1K a month isnt bad money for no work, how badly do you need the money?

Or maybe find a friend or someone in college to run it and pay them to do it. If they can increase it and keep it active as it sounds like it needs upkeep might benifit you in long run even though you would have to pay them in short time. Could offer bonuses for performance as they increase it.
