can I finally have ms outlook on the web? (vs desktop based)

what i'm saying is, i'd like to use outlook as a webbased email (like gmail) vs a desktop only application.
is that what outlook live is? doing a remote VPN would be too costly just to check email on the road...
unless someone has a better solution they are currently using!

It sounds like that's what they're doing. I know that you've been looking for a remote Outlook solution [webmasterworld.com] for a while now...so have I. The upcoming Windows Live [webmasterworld.com] services could be what we've been waiting for.
If not I may have to break down and get myself an Exchange server. ;)

You can easily buy hosted Exchange (on an ASP basis) for US$10/user/month.
