What affiliate program to use

I have a website and I wish to setup an affiliate program.
I wish to get your advice on firstly if I shd have my Internal Program using coding created for me
or

if I shd use some external ones like shareasale etc

I wish to get your advice on what I shd do.

If you think I shd do go for an external one, can you please recommend what website I shd opt for.
All these websites r charging quite high sums to signup.

How about using Google Adsense? I`ve hearing some good reports about that one. I just added it to my one site actually, so we`ll see.
