Is it possible to use Paypal to accept credit cards? We have to switch clients for whom we have credit card numbers from one business to another. We used Wells Fargo for years in the first company to process a lot of payments with no problems for years. Maybe 2 chargebacks from 1 client in all that time. But for some reason, Wells Fargo would not accept the new merchant account and there was no human to speak to about it.

(A trend I've been noticing with these big corporations. They have algos, robots that talk and do customer service, but no real service whatsoever, unless it's outsourced to India.)

Is it possible to use paypal to process credit cards? Or do they require to have your client give them the number directly (which would not solve my problem). If paypal won't work, any recommendations to companies that set this up quickly, don't drive you crazy in getting an account and don't rape you with fees?

Thank you.

IMHO PayPal is the simplest to set up and use. Also a lot of people have PayPal accounts already. Problem is the cut that PayPal takes. I havent tried other methods, but probably everyone takes a cut of the transaction.

The QuickBooks merchant account works well for us. You can bill and charge their card right out of it. You can also send e-mail invoices and they have a link to go pay right there and it processes automatically. A big timesaver...and it makes it easier for the customer to buy from you.
