How do I go about finding a lawyer when I want to sue someone for something that happened over the internet? I've searched Google and found nothing. Can a regular lawyer do this, or do I need one who specializes in the internet?

I suspect you are in the US. You could try Googling for "internet crime lawyer" perhaps followed by city, but I saw plenty of likely hits with the previous search.

Can it be placed under an "intellectual property" apellation? I'd think you'd be more likely to find an intellectual property lawyer than an "internet crime" lawyer.

Might depend on what kind of 'internet crime' you need a lawyer for.......

Internet crime? Contact your local FBI office; they all have Internet divisions. If you are talking about civil issues, such as copyright infringment, ask business associates for local referrals. If you do not know anyone locally, contact the ABA (American Bar Association) in your town. If you are an artist, see if there is a Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts near you.

Look for 'Computer Forensics'. That might be what you are looking for.
