My client has asked me to come up with an user acceptance test(UAT) plan for his website. I've seen software application UAT plan, but never for a website. I mean what do you test besides links and html compatibility? Please share... if you've done one for a website do you mind sharing?
Thanks.

You should also be testing the usability of the site. If you're not sure what that is, grab a copy of "Don't Make Me Think" by Steve Krug - excellent book. He also explains how to perform usability testing in decent detail.

Yes, we are running an usability test. That's why I am somewhat confused when my client wanted an UAT.

So, just spoke with my client. I guess Usability test is done before a site is launched. User Acceptance Test is for QA purposes. Still, not sure whatelse to test for besides download speed, links, html, javascript, and user access...

ideally get some test users who are unrelated to the project, and give them a series of tasks to complete on the site.
observe how quickly/easily/succesfully (or not) they complete the tasks, and work on the area that need improvent. rince, and repeat.
