I am new to the forum and much of the information shared has been very helpful. I am also new to the webmaster/web design business. One of my first clients in a 60% owner in her business. The other partner is the money partner. He controls the money and has secured the domain names. He will be the one to approve the contract. My question is this... The two partners are feuding and the majority owner wants to be on her own. If the minority partner pays to get the site up and running and is paying me for maintenance, how do I protect my work and the site so that when the partners split, the majority partner will be able to continue with the site that I have designed even though the business name may change?
Long question and kind of confusing, but this business needs a site and she wants me to do the work. Any advice would be appreciated...

Thank You.

Sounds like a question you should be asking of them.

I did. We talked at length about the possibilities. She is confident that she will get the business all to herself she is just not sure when. My question, I guess, is if the partner with the money gives the go ahead, I do I protect my work so that when a new domain is chosen, I can take that site and just transfer to the new domain?

Thanks.

If you were payed for your work, it becomes their work. It becomes an asset of the company, with a value.
