Purchasing 'Web Design Business Kits'

Worth the price? Can it be gotten free?

I'm just starting out and there seems to be so much to do that I don't know where to start. I'm thinking about purchasing a Web Design Business Kit. These things come with all kinds of legal docs, as well as docs I'll need to manage projects and send to clients.

I've seen prices ranging from $20 to $200 so far. Have you pros had any experience with these? Is there a place where I can find something for free. I don't expect to get stuff like this for free, but at least it would be a good start towards creating my own documents.

I dont mind spending the money, but I dont want to end up with something that's useless.

What we did was find a local law firm and sell them web design. We quoted them a decent rate and told them we could work in trade. It started us with a few thousand dollar tab at a local attorney's office. Definitely worth the small amount of time required in building about an 8 page site for a law firm.

I recently purchased one such package that was around $200 from a popular web developer website. It has some good templates for contracts, contacting customers, marketing your business, etc.

I've used some of the templates for sending out proposals, a couple of contracts, etc. and have gotten a good response so far. I think it made my company look more professional and more importantly, it saved me a lot of time. IMHO, it was worth the money. I already made it back and then some. Good luck.
