Has anyone been affected?

I was just wondering if the recent anti-SPAM laws have had any impact on anyone at all.

I still get the same amount of junk e-mail and the format of it has not changed. Clearly the SPAMmers are waiting to see what will happen.

I have not sent out any link exchange e-mails yet this year because I have not had time, but I was wondering if anyone had been accused of SPAM by sending one.

Other than the hype when the bills were signed into law, there really is no news about the effect. Was this just politics or has it changed your marketing strategies?

Well, the amount of spam I recieve has reduced by around 99%. Great!

I must admit to feeling a little unloved because of it, though... ;)

I have one big company sending out email notifying people that they are going to sending marketing/informational emails.

The problem the email list they are using is from 5 years ago when another (now defunt) company had our domain names.

The last line of the message is reply to be removed. But this does not work for stuff forwarded in to the catch all box. After over a dozen messages I turned off email forwarding on a secondary domain.

Regular spam level hasn't changed.

What about those that use e-mail as a marketing tool? Spammer or not, has the new law changed your stratagies?
