Hi

I am based in the UK.

Just a few questions;

1) What is the going rate for an average static web page.
2) A rate for a database driven site (Access/ASP)
3) How much should I charge a client if I was to use a resellers package.

Just 'GuessEstimates' woud be most helpful.

Thanks in advance - Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Congrats! Great feeling, isn't it?

I personally find that the best way is to charge an hourly rate that "you" would be happy paying. Work out your costs for the project, and add a percentage, which is your profit.

Of course, it depends whether it's a one or two day job, or a couple of months.

Good luck!

SORRY - I forgot to add;

If the client wants me to look after the site, is there a rate for that also.

Things like adding new images from time to time. Not a lot of work.

Thanks.

Hi,

Hourly rate is the best... if you work for set price and you come across problems that can cut into your profits.

Good luck!

Either a monthly maintanence fee, or a "job by job" fee. Depends on how much work a month. (Also how demanding the S.O.B. is ;) )

Course - at the end of the day, if this guy is your first, and he has friends you want to pitch, could be worth while doing it at cost, with the stipulation that he recommends you. Depends on the situation. I've done that on occasion - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. çe le vie!
