I am starting to get quite a few clients in a past little while and it's hard to keep track of all the things I do for them an how long does it take...

I was wondering if there is any software for Win32 that would do something like this: enter a customer name into the database, then i can start/stop time counter for that customer and have several customers in that program.

TIA

There are a lot of programs out there that will do what you need ... a quick search [google.com] at Google gives tons of options!

I've always tracked in a spreadsheet. But there are several good, heavy-duty, customizable programs out there. Sorry I don't have a specific recommendation - but maybe this'll steer you in the right direction on your search.

Thank you. I just wasn't sure what to look for in Google.

I am not fluent in English, it's my second language, and I just didn't know how to formulate the query :)

Did you find a good software? Have you started using? If yes, tell more info here. It could be good for me and several other people to have a first hand experience of a particular software for this.

No I haven't found any. Well, I didn't search - too lazy. I just use Excel and a little formula to calculate my stats.

If you find any - please let me know :)

Time Tracker at rfcons.com. has what you've mentioned plus a good number of other options including import/export and setting as many custom fields as you want. its also relatively benign on resource use.

There are several categories at ODP for

Project Time Tracking Software [dmoz.org]

Several of them seem to be very simple and reasonable.

Public Accountants use time tracking and billing a lot when there are several bookkeepers who work on a number of client accounts each.
