Advice Wanted on selling a website

I want to sell one of my websites, and need advice on what to do

I have a membership website that is not doing real well because I do not have the time to spend marketing it properly.

It deals with a disease that unfortunately for mankind (but fortunately for the site) is doubling. This site deals with the disease using alternative medicine. It is basically a paid subscription ezine.

I own the domain and the same domain with a hyphen between the two words. i.e.
[mydomain.com...]
[my-domain.com...]

The time developing the site was over 300 hours. How would I value this?
Where would be a place to bring it to market?
What kind of offers should I look for? For example setting up a JV with someone to run and market it, or outright sale, or long term buyout?

Any ideas/opinions are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

We have been discussing this in another thread. It is unfortunately worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for it.
Unfortunately, because it seems people are not prepared to pay much.

The marketing seems the most difficult part, as there are so many unmarketed sies out there.
Here is the right place to look for a joint partnership...

Most people base it off of current profitability.

Do you think I would be better off looking to JV it?

One of my website clients is selling his website to one of the people in his office. My client is getting a promotion and will no longer need it. Both are truck driver recruiters for the same company. I built the site, managed it, sold my client driver applications and advertising from my main business. I have been an online trucking job search and truck driver job application site since 1997. I now own 11 of these sites each dedicated to each segment of the trucking industry. Anyway. to get back to the sale, my client's site has enjoyed better than average success over the last 2 years as a new start up since he has been my client and it has brought him enough new hires to make him 6 figures both years. The site generated 200 direct driver applicants per month to him and he received another 1100 from my service. His 'real people' traffic averaged this year 25,000 per month. Just last month he stopped his avertising with my service and his traffic has dropped to less than 5,000 and his direct apps have slowed down to 2 or 3 per week.

He wants to sell the website and name for $2,000.00. I told him that is not an out ofline fee as long as the buyer undertstands that without my site's service or one that is at least as good or soem nmot-sopfew dollars are spent advertising again in some forrm or fashion, the site will not produce the same results as he has enjoyed. He said he would and will put the guy on the phone with me to explain. I will be glad also to send my client's stats for both years to the buyer.

My question is this: When he wants to transfer the name, will it be a big hassle for me? I've not had to do this before and not sure how complicated cyber real estate is to transfer title to new owner, etc.

Thanks to anyone who can advise me who has done this before!
