A Better WhoIs...

There has to be something better than Network Solutions

I like to use the whois feature on Network solutions website because I can search for domains owned by a specific company or person (which most whois sites don't have). My only complaint is that the database seems incomplete (if I search for a friend it only pulls about about half the domains he owns). Does anyone know of a better service?

I personally use ARIN's whois: [arin.net...]

Their search instructions are kinda cryptic though... type a ? in their search box to see them.

Thanks Mivox, Unfortunately Arin's database doesn't include domain info... I'm looking for a domain name whois that is searchable by registrant info..

I use METADOG WHOIS

[metadog.com...]

it is very useful because you can search regional dominions too (.it or .de etc.)

Thanks Angiolo, looks like they have a good database but you can't search by registrant name...

Has anybody seen a whois besides NetworkSolutions that allows you to search by registrant name?

Well, NS isn't exactly renown for protecting the privacy of its customer data...
