Whilst moving domains don't lose sight of any seasonal effects for specific domain categories: Some domains are more active at various times of year. Others have fairly consistent traffic.
What's interesting about DomainSponsor is the number of people reporting a nice upwards trend in domain revenue since the company announced and instituted a program that is supposedly designed to reward "better traffic", which presumably means traffic that converts. I admit that I have no complaints about what they have been doing since October 2005, other than a suffering through a few hiccups in their operations along the way.
The answer to the question "who is better" is not an answer that is best resolved by votes in forums. All manner of nonsense can shape forum voting and, for that reason alone, I prefer we don't run "who's better threads". The issue of "who pays more" is best worked out for each domainer by sampling each system. If you are really smart you sample them all.
I, on the other hand, am a dope who hasn't moved a single domain, mostly because I like the level of control over the landers I am afforded by DSp's user interface. Some day I may learn just how big a dope I am should I ever make a move. However, I've been happily watching revenue climb for the last 5 months so I'm none to eager to exit the system right now.
It's sort of like having a run at the craps table, ya know? There are times where you just stay put because you begin to believe.
Then someone rolls a 7. :(
This month so far the domain has been hit 20 times and I have earnt 40 cents. I feel ripped off and am thinking of alternatives.
Any ideas? Is this what parking companies really pay?
