Buying an 3-year-old/not used domain question

Hi All,

I have the opportunity to buy a domain that was registered by another company 3 years ago, but they did not used it, just redirected to another doamin.

Will the domain keep its age if the owner is new?

What if I wait until it expires (coming soon) and reregister it quickly?

The domain will continue on even if you buy it from its owner, as long as it's continually paid.

If the domain's deleted, that is. There's a difference.

Better buy from the owner. If you allow the domain to expire, then Google will reset the pagerank to 0.

Recently Google became a domain registrar so that it can have access to all this domain records so that it can reset the pagerank of all deleted domains to zero.
