.de Domain search

who is responsible

I have a whois program that searches for any entered name for .de(german) and would tell you if it is available or taken. Now i find that it does not work anymore, no matter what word you enter, it always says that the name is taken.
The search was made through: whois.ripe.net, which i assume has now changed. Can anyone bring me up-to-date?

Try going here [corenic.org] where there is a list of registrars in Germany. From there it should be quite easy.

thanks for the speedy reply Eurotrash. Unfortunately it does not help me, i am not that way inclined, i simply press a button and it works!
I do know the line of code in my .cgi script read...whois.ripe.net...and now it should read?
