How about .cc!?

Will it not squash .biz, .ws and other new tlds?

What do you people think of the .cc extension? I'm curious to know, because I personally rather like it:

- it's short (shorter than .com)
- it's easy to remember
- it has no geographical association attached to it (apart from the Cocos Islands of course!), which is probably very interesting for non-US businesses
- it looks and sounds nice and catchy

Would love to know if you agree/disagree, or whatever views and feelings you have about this tld!

The .com gtld is still the best.

Most people still automatically think .com rather than any other tld.

Location type (cctld) domains have been growing as the internet market in various countries mature. With .eu coming online next year, the market is going to be shaken up again and the most vulnerable will be those non-location cctlds.

Yes but it also may look like a typo to some people.

The .biz gtld is perhaps the least popular of the gtlds after .name. However it is catching up on the .info gtld. From a business point of view, a .com is always easier to market because a .com is immediately identifiable.

Sure, it's 50% longer than a .com, but it's still only 2 vs 3 characters
- it's easy to remember

Everyone remembers .com, but is .cc easier than .tv or .ws?

I always thought .tv was catchy... especially when Howard Stern was promoting it.

For some reason, when I read the .CC I am always reminded of the CCCP - USSR.
