could be a great brand name and might be used by a company selling a certain/product or service. Actually a company may already own the name for branding purposes. Could I sell this domain name? I went to impressivedomains.com and saw a lot of names selling for ridiculous amounts ....thousands of dollars. Is this possible? What is a more realistic amount to be earned from a name that can be used as a product brand?

"Better to avoid than cause"

If you suspect that another company may own the name for branding purposes they may have established "first commercial use" as a service mark or trade mark which could establish their right to the domain. (note trade marks do not have to be registered in order to attain rights)

You may wish to read some of the guidance notes for Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution provided by ICANN or one of the four authorised dispute agents.

"Prevention is better than cure"

You may wish to consider approaching the mark / brand owner first in offering the domain for sale. To instigate UDNDR action costs $1000 plus.

If they do not wish to purchase the domain, then offer it to the open market with no fear of action.
