My domain name expired: no redemption period offered.

I read in another post that "ICANN now requires that registrars place an expired domain name in the REDEMPTION-PERIOD status for at least 30 days." I have a domain name that I missed renewing with Namecheap and they didn't allow me to renew 1 day after the expiry date. According to the above I should have had a 30 day redemption period. My main registrar, Registerfly always give me this and sometimes longer. It's now about 32 days late, have I got any options left or do I just try my luck with Snapnames?

Try contacting Registerfly support. They helped me grab a domain that had expired through another registrar.

There was an option in my Namecheap account 'reactivate domain name' which I never saw. A very helpful support person sorted me out and all is now well, they accepted payment and reactivated the domain name. Very impressed with their support if not their interface.
