Hi there.

I currently host my business website on my own server on Win2K/apache. I currently use a .tk domain, redirecting to the IP address of my server, but i would like a more professional domain (.com/.net/.co.uk) and I was wondering if any of you knew of a Domain company that sold pointers to private Hosting accounts. All of the companies i have looked at seem to only do pointers for customers hosted by them.

If you do not get me, heres an example:

If my hosting is at the IP address:
[81.XX.147.48...]

And i want www.MyDomain.com to point to the above IP, yet list the contents as:
[mydomain.com...]

If you are using this method, i would be extremely greatful if you could give me names of companies that provide this service.

Many Thanks
Rob Dickie :D

There are hundreds and more of such companies. Try using terms like, say, "dynamic DNS", "DNS forwards", "DNS services", or just "DNS" in your favorite SE - perhaps there's even such a thing as free DNS.
