EURid (European Registry of Internet Domain Names) has sent out an email to interested parties informing them of progress towards launching .eu TLD.

They have put the email contents up as a downloadable .doc on their website here [eurid.org]. It is at the top of the page dated 10th March.

The European Commission has been working on the .eu domain since 1999 which will surprise no one who has ever had anything to do with them :)

Anyone know when the EU domain extension is likely to be launched?

Wow! It has only taken the EU 5 years to (nearly) sort this out :)

There is no way that .EU will be launched this year or any other time soon ..

.EU cant even resolve which of the EU member Countries Trade Marks is going to take precedent over the other, cant be done.
