We have many companies scattered all over the world. Each company of ours has its unique domain name and a separate website. For convenience and central control we have hosted these domain names over one IP address . Content of all of these companies is different and reflects their region. Of course the Front page has a similar look all over the place. We were wondering that if we were to split all these domains over separate IP addresses, would it change the Link popularity or does it not make any difference. Currently we have different Link Popularity for all domain names. I read the forums but did not find any direct answer to my puzzle. Thank you

I guess you are asking if it could have a significance for your ranking in the search engines, the problem as you, point out could be that the frontpages are seen as duplicates, especially if they link to its other, if they are so similar you could consider having just one from where the visitor could choose language/area.
Regarding the same ip question i am not quite sure, but i think the general opinion is that you reduce risk of being taking penalized for crosslinking if their is different c-classes for the ips

Hi Havarian,
Thanks for your reply, so I gather having virtual hosts on same IP address eg 255.255.255.255 hosts www.xyz.com www.whatever.com www.widgets.com is not a good idea. And from what I understand its better to have different IP addresses than host them on the same...right?
