Hi, I am having problems trying to transfer a domain name, it is currently parked with a service provider but I wish to move it elsewhere. I have tried doing this though the automated transfer process from the ISP I wish to transfer the domain to, but I am getting an error "60 day restriction in place".

Any ideas what this could mean and how I can go about removing this restriction.

As a note WHOIS details that the record was last updated on the 27-Oct-03, do I need to wait 60 days from last update?

If memory serves, you will need to wait 60 days after the date of domain name registration before you can transfer it to a different registrar.

The last update date could be the same as date of registration, it could also be different. Look for creation date.

Thanks marcs. I have had the domain since 2001, however I
notice the following in the WHOIS:-

Registrar of Record: TUCOWS, INC.
Record last updated on 27-Oct-2003.
Record expires on 20-Jul-2005.
Record Created on 20-Jul-2001.

Could this recent update be blocking the transfer.

The 60 day period only applies to the "creation" date, in your case this is 20-Jul-2001. You should be able to transfer as long your email address listed in the admin contact record is valid.

Tucows has a very simple process for transferring a name. The new registrant should intiiate a transfer at the registrar of their choice, and Tucows will send you an email to verify your authorization to transfer.

Hi,
I do not know whether to start a new post as the query isa about same.

1) I have registered a .org domain recently.
2) I asked my domain booker to change the DNS and the domain name owner as he generally books a domain using his name and then change to my name.
3) OnlineNic trhu which we book shows my name but when seen by other like register's etc, it shows his name.

This is also what it shows!
