Anything like Fastclick?

fastclick paid-per-impression

I have fastlick banners all over my site, and I've been using CJ and other affiliate networks to add revenue, but they don't seem to work very well. (I think my visitors are very focused on why they're on my site, and the ads that I've run from CJ and Linkshare just doesn't interset them -- not a single sell/purchase from these ads in months.) So I was looking for another paid-per-impression/click program like Fastclick to add revenue, because even if the ads being served don't interest my visitors, I'll still be paid for impressions.

Does anyone know of any other paid-per-impression banner programs like Fastclick that allows more than one ad server on the same page? I would use Google's Adword, but they don't allow pop-ups and what not, and I use that on my page.

Thanks.

Burst?

Burst is definately an option.
Tribal Fusion is another.

How big is your site? If it's considerably large (and the content isn't sensitive), advertising.com might take you up. Best in the business imho.

It's not very big. I've only been around for about a year, and as of last month I'm averaging around 90,000 visitors per month. It's climbing, but that's the number from last month. Is 90K good enough for burst or tribal fusion? I know it's not good enough for avertising.com, which requires, I think, over 250K.

90,000 uniques? Or pageviews? Eitherway that's pretty large.

90,000 uniques is more than enough for either Burst or Tribal.

I'd ask advertising.com anyway, explain to them your situation and give them exact numbers. Who knows, they might bend the rules a little. I guess that depends on how valuable/professional/useful they see your site.

ps: You're very humble :) You'll go far.

I've checked out Burst, and it seems as if I'll qualify. But I noticed that Burst does what they call "target ads" -- which leads me to this question:

Would I be better off exclusively using an ad server that does targetting ads instead of Fastclick, which seems to display random ads that have no relevance to my site? I average 1.5% CTR using Fastclick's ads, but wouldn't common sense dictate that if I use Burst, which targets ads specifically to my site, I would get more CTR, and thus make more money?

Or maybe I'm thinking this thing over too much...

@fidibidabah

I hope I didn't sound like a braggart, because compared to other sites like mine, I'm doing measly numbers. :)

Maybe, but it's certainly a good start.

Anyway, if you're looking for targeting, go Tribal Fusion. They have an odd sort of outline system, and the deeper in your catagory matches, the better CPM you get.

I know 5,000-10,000 a day sites that are getting a solid $10CPM with Burst. Who knows what you can do.

I'd look into both, read everything there is, and then send an email to each, asking specific questions.

Thats my 2 :)

@fidibidabah

I've already signed up for Burst! Media. I'll try their top and skyscraper banners, but keep Fastclick's pop-unders and invues. They seem to be Fastclick's best moneymaker. The banners, though, not so much. And I don't blame my visitors one bit -- after all, they're all a bunch of nonsense ads that trick you into clicking with stupid "You won!" ads. Nonsense. I'd rather have targetted ads, at least it makes my site look good.

I would try Tribal Fusion, but I don't quite meet their standards. Perhaps in a year or so, when our numbers climb, I'll try them.

I'd stay away from TF. Their CPM rates have gone done tremendously. You'll be lucky to pull in 2.00 CPM. I think the glory days for them are numbered. As for Advertising.com, to the best of my knowledge, they only do CPC or CPA campaigns. They do not run CPM campaigns. Atleast, when they had contacted us for business, they only offered CPC or CPA, not CPM.

Bad news. Burst! Media turned my site down. :( Is there anyone else out there who does targetted ads? I can't qualify from Tribal Fusion, so what about Advertising.com?

P.S. Does anyone understand how Gorilla Nation works? It's my understanding (from what I've read on their site) that they only provide ad serving functions for websites, but don't solicit ads themselves. Is this true?

Is it possible Burst to have your website turned down because of Fastlink and as you say all their crappy ads?

Can you be considered by big companies as not a serious publisher because of using companies as Fastlink?

It's definitely worth giving advertising.com a call and explain your situation. Good rates and fast payment make them quite an attractive option.

They accepted a site of mine a few years ago when I had a fairly low level of impressions compared to their stated minimum levels, with a view to let the site grow. Now it's grown significantly, so their gamble paid off I spose...

Might be worth trying valueclick.com or (if you're in the UK) adviva.net too.

Well, Advertising.com, I signed up their program one month ago, they neither turn me down or accept me, but no reply from them. No one answer email too, although I had sent two emails to ask them what happened.

Great thanks to all those who provided experiencs/advices. I've decided to give the site 6 months to grow before applying to anywhere else. Perhaps by then the site will have grown enough for me to accept ads myself, and serve it using some of the ad servers like Gorilla Nation, etc.

If you are looking for an ad service, why not do it yourself? If you used PHP Ads, its free, easy to setup, and you do not have to share your revenue with anyone.

Just something you should think about.

Gorilla Nation definitely sells ads to advertisers on a CPM basis. Their network of sites is typically in the tech/gaming world.

I am pretty sure Advertising.com no longer does CPM campaigns. From the info I get they only have advertisers in their network on a CPA and possibly CPC basis.

If you have over 1 million impressions per month, you can apply for inclusion to Max Worldwide. They took over the doubleclick accounts. You might want to check them out if you meet those requirements.
