I believe that the ground would be much more leveled once Adsense has some decent competition.
Any ideas?
CompWorld
As for Kanoodle, they plan to officially launch in the second quarter of 2004. Here is more information:
[kanoodle.com...]
They also have their power point presentation they did for the WebmasterWorld conference there, too, which explains a lot more about their contextual advertising program. Kanoodle has the potential to be a competitor for AdSense, it will be nice to see it in action.
Just a note, my daily commissions and estimated cpm continued to drop on a daily basis since switching from adsense to ad sonar. I'm not sure what's causing it, but I can't afford to test them out much longer at the current rate. I'm going to try out adsense again to see if they have improved at all.

An ad sonar sales rep confirmed for me that they were officially launching next week
You've been singing that song for half a year now ;)
It's been a long, long week. The last time I brought this up with you was in Jan when you were adamant that it was launching mid-Jan (in the thread where you said you were in the trial - now removed by the mods). I fogot to ask: Mid-Jan in which year?
But from your other posts you've been trying it out for several months now... or is that not true?
don't they say that every week?

I'm sorry I'm seeing this now for the first time.
I don't work for ad*sonar, I was just one of the few websites trying them out during beta. Currently I'm using AdSense, not Ad*Sonar, at least until they stop using FindWhat ads for my vertical as it's paying out far less than Google (even after the April drop).
As far as my looking like a liar and "singing that song" for a while now, I feel rather silly. I think you're associating my reporting what the company says to you with my assumption that it's true. I don't know either way whether ad*sonar will even ever launch at all, let alone leave beta. I certainly hope so, I'd love to see competition for the publishers to choose from. But the mere fact that I'm reporting what they say and attributing it to them doesn't mean I'm making a statement that I believe what they say.
I'll write this in all caps so there is no confusion:
I DO NOT WORK FOR AD*SONAR AND HAVE NOT STAKED ANY BELIEF THAT THEY WILL LAUNCH. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ADAMANT ABOUT THEM LAUNCHING (AS ALL I HAVE TO GO ON ARE THEIR EMAILS AND A CALL OR TWO AND REALLY HAVE NO IDEA), ALTHOUGH I MAY HAVE PASSED ALONG THAT THEY INSIST THAT THEY ARE LAUNCHING. EVERYTHING I POST HERE IS SIMPLY PASSING ALONG A MESSAGE FROM THEM TO YOU THAT I MAY OR MAY NOT BELIEVE.
I can understand your frustration with hearing something that is obviously not true, and hearing it repeatedly. (Believe me, as the person most burned by their statements on these boards I am too). However I am assuming that when you are discussing them you do want to hear a statement from them? If you don't believe them anymore, fine. That's your perogative.
But quit shooting the messenger.
