We're not willing to display intrusive forms of advertising like pop-up or rich media because we don't want to annoy our readers. AdSense rejected us for "inappropriate content" (we're more funny than deep, with four-letter words or naked boobs not totally unseen in our stories). So what this basically leaves us, I guess, is affiliate programs.
We joined one affilicate program that pays per click ("mail-order bride"-type introduction agency), and the results aren't totally bad (around $4 a day from one text link). But I'm not able to find more affiliate programs that pay per click. I tried another one in the same niche that claims to pay comission from sales, but they didn't confirm a single sale in 20 days, despite 200 visitors we sent, so I dropped it.
How do I find affiliate programs that pays per click? Or just some good, profitable ones? I googled for "affiliate programs", and found a few catalogs, but they were totally unhelpful, filled with crap and sales pitches for "affiliate secrets"-type material.
Any newbie advice/pointers?
