I received a list of new search terms from a client. Nothing new in that, with rankings for his competitors on MSN.com.

This was on Friday but do the results match up now. Do they hell.

I have confirmed with the client that the results are from MSN.com. Has there been a major refresh over the last weekend.

Does anyone have any idea why on Friday 10 search terms for 8 competitors do not match up on Tuesday?

Given that MSN's results are fed by 1) Looksmart, and 2) Inktomi, it might be that people changed their bids...or the paid for spidering reshuffled things...or MSN tweaked their implementation of the variables of INK's algo.

:) Could be any number of things...they change often on most engines these days.

I noticed the same thing this morning. I did a little digging and it appears that the query strings from my pages have disappeard from the index. I went from 500+ indexed pages to 56. All of my content and great rankings disappeared with the query strings.

Hopefully they will get this remedied.
