Yahoo and Netscape were previously removed from Vivisimo, possibly because they contain Google results. Perhaps the return of Yahoo signifies that it won't be using Google?

I don't know if I would stretch it that far (saying that meant Google and Yahoo were sticking together), but it is nice to see more options on vivisimo.

It's really a cool site and set up they have, however, I've yet to see referral #1 on my stuff :)

It looks like they dropped Openfind. I get some referrals from Vivisimo, however this is not a very large selection of web SE's at all. I would expect a few more as options for the advanced search. I hope they can decide on some providers that they can stick with.

I think vivisimo is more focused on trying to sell their software product that becoming the 'next meta search engine destination' - so you might not see any referrers from vivisimo.com but perhaps you would see them from someone using their stuff (who i couldn't point you to).

Good point, kmarcus.

Their site does seem to be more focused on selling their software / instead of providing a better user experience.

However, I can't help but think with so many bells and whistles, it's got to be terribly hard to design a user interface that will get used and is easy to understand when they have so many things to click on.

You can also demo Vivisimo's dynamic document clustering technology
with many specialized search databases at:

[vivisimo.com...]

Categories include government, business, universities, etc.

Also, Vivisimo's "Preview" feature continues to be a wonderful tool.
You'll find it on the results list next to the page title. You'll need to be using IE.
