Does OpenFind power other engines?

and does it get any traffic?

Occasionally, our server seems to receive some severe abuse from OpenFind as it churns its way through the site, pulling a page every couple of seconds. This does significantly increase the load on the server, and it does use up a chunk of our traffic allocation, which we have to pay for.

So the question is - is OpenFind worth it? They got a lot of press coverage with their launch, but does this mean that they are actually pushing trafic through to any sites? Or do they have any partners yet?

I don't want to ban the OpenFind spider if it will start providing returns, but at the moment it just looks like an abusive leech on the site. If it wasn't so aggressive in its spidering, it wouldn't be a problem.

Vivisimo meta search engine has Openfind as an advanced search option.

I was hoping that it would be a little more than that ;)

Looking through the stats for all of our sites, I don't see any referrals from Vivisimo. I think that probably answers my question then.
