Is Rex a working search engine?

Still find Rex on search engine listings . . .

Anyone know if Rex is still a working search engine? The help link goes to a company that set them up years ago and no longer has anything to do with Rex. Just want to know if they are worth the trouble to submit to and if they ever update?

That is a real good question. I just spent some time there doing some searches. The listings on REX show the URL's. What I am seeing are lots of old time Geocities URL's - like they had back in the mid 1990's (ie. geocities.com/Hollywood/6464/...) and other old free hosting type addresses with the ~ in them.

It all looks like it is from the time when only the biggest corporations had their own domains.

And now that you mention it I don't think the bacic design of the REX engine has changed since I first heard of them 5 years ago.

I have submitted several sites in the last year and none of them are listed. IMO it does not look like it is still adding sites. I will probably drop this one from my submission list.

I've never seen this one before...or heard of it, till your post.

Generally, if it looks like it's got some traffic, it's still a good idea to submit...however, if it's one where like Brad mentioned the only places you find it mentioned are old sites that look so dusty you sneeze when you click on them, odds are it isn't worth your time. :)

That's my experience also.
