Can any one explain a strategy for good positioning in excite. (UK) Despite reading all the data on sumission policy and rating criteria I still can't understand why excite results are so different from the other major search results.

Why do press and publication documents weight so highly in the results ?

What is the current delay, from submission to inclusion ?

Just keep submitting a few pages a day Spiky. Sooner or later, Excite will do something and you will show up in the index. I submit two pages a day to the US Excite. Those pages randomly are added. I think Excite is hand adding pages by editors.

(I'll move this over to the excite forum in a couple days.)

Thanks Brett, forgive us novices for not scrolling down far enough to find you have an excite forum, I always get hooked into some topic in the top 3 or 4 discussion's

Ill just keep plugging away, I read it can take up to 2 years !

Hi

I can strongly recommend spending £99 on a LookSmart listing, did that 3 weeks ago, and ex results are growing slowly but steady.
