For a search that I just performed, listings 15 through 20 were all dead links......I think that is pretty bad.

Noops, it's kinda strange that they haven't updated their index for such a long time, i remember how they crawled the web like crazy in the beginning of this year.

agerhart,

see what you mean, put in a key term that has been no.1 for a while in wisenut, with my site being number two. knew the no.1 listing was dead for the last 8 weeks. Still their, clicked through to nothing. Funny.

Maybe it is the looksmart acquisition that has, stalled the re-indexing !

It seems to me the price paid for WiseNut was quite low. That might indicate why they haven't updated the index in so long. Maybe there are major costs involved in that activity that they just plain could not afford.

Rebuilding behind the scenes before relaunch with the new Looksmart partner. Wisenut went on a full crawl not long ago. I'm sure that db is being flushed out while the stale one remains online.

Yes, no doubt. But nevertheless, a lot of months have passed before the buyout with no update at all. I still suspect WiseNut found the update process way expensive. But like I said, that's just a guess based on the notion the company was sold for cheap.
