just tried a couple searches on wisenut and got 'temporary server overload' - Are they that busy with legit searches do they have a problem?

I believe they are still tweaking their system...if you do some complex searches, (when it's up) you might notice their speed isn't up to par with say Google or Fast/Alltheweb.
When they get it working again, it'll be interesting to see if they got the spam some people pointed out here.
