The site is now indexed, just about exactly two months later... all main pages including and ranking well... very similar to Google results... including some framed pages and framesets.
WISEnut now is offering something else that reminds me of Google... they're caching pages. They have a Sneak-a-Peek feature that puts the cached page in what appears to be an iFrame window... It's a tiny window... clumsy to use... without the highlighting etc of Google.
But the results are great... at least for the way I optimize. :)
Wow. Their results keep getting better and better. (not just because they indexed me). Unique results, too. Let's see, why would I switch to this engine (if I hadn't already)?
Best results on the 'net (IMHO), they don't seem to rotate results (to drive ad revenue like Google), and I haven't heard people saying getting cookies from them alters results, either. All in all, I don't know their game plan, but I'm sold. :)
I was thinking about this, and I'm not sure this result will project into the future. Obviously, they've just done a bunch of stuff on their site, including re-indexing. It may be this means they'll now be indexing on a more regular basis... or it may mean that this was a special event and we'll have to wait longer next time around.
No data on spidering on this particular site, unfortunately...
Ian - When did your site appear in the results? Was it the same date as mine, or was it earlier? This might tell us a little more about their indexing patterns...
I'm also keeping my eye on how agressively they're following links to modified sites on their own.
The "sneek a peek" isn't a cache ... but opens the real site in an iframe. Though with mozilla/gecko it takes you straight to the site. (Guys -- gecko can handle iframes :) )
Not seen this before ... nice idea though .. might start putting more "target=top"'s in my links though.
