I have only know about SearchHippo for about two months, but I have now noticed them providing results on 3 search engines: backfill on a PPC; and feeding results to two meta-search engines. Might be more but that is all I've found so far.

All I know is that they are spidering some of my sites. Your info is better than mine, I was guessing that it may have been an anti-cloaking spider for one of the major engines.

I don't like their results at all. If I search for "jazz music" at Google, I can be sure the results are basically music sites containing the word jazz somewhere. But with Search Hippo, I get any website with the word "jazz" i.e. "Utah Jazz win's Western Division." And there doesn't seem to be the standard ranking seen elsewhere.

Their results are used by Dogpile which can push a little extra exposure - not sure where they appear in the list though.
