Has anyone else noticed increased Excite activity?

I never used to bother checking, and wasn't even diligent with submission, since they never appeared to update. But then, I started to see some traffic, checked, and they've updated for sure. Also, the placements on my pages are not that far off from Google's - a few spots lower, but with more results returned for the search terms.

I saw continuous spidering activity last month, and while not as much this month, it's been going on for the past few days.

Since I hadn't watched much I can't be sure, but it seems like they've updated twice this year, including last month some time. Could there be another upate coming?

I haven't noticed an update from Excite for nearly 2 months now. Sorry.

I watch them out of the corner of my eye, only pay serious attention when the I'm bored with the other SEs. :)

I haven't tracked spidering at all, I'm convinced reindexing is done every 3 months. It's been pretty consistent for 18 months or more. I unexpectedly got a top 10 about 18 months back and the traffic it generated surprised me. Been kinda watching and taking my Excite SEO efforts more seriously since.

Only Excite activity I have seen is in the press:

Spidered one site I'm watching, but only the robots.txt...perhaps I should cloak that next time for Excite? :) Other than that, I pretty much ignore them...they have a captive audience, but how long before the lure of google, and the fact that they can change their home page, starts dawning on all of their users?

I don't check Excite often. I checked today and placement for certain keywords has improved. However, I cannot detect an increase in referrals. Would be nice to know the date of the update.
