Was checking logs and noticed that ezspider from www.picsearch.com came to visit. Doesn't appear the engine is even active yet.

What's their IP? Since they do support robots.txt:

User-agent: psbot
Disallow: /

Was crawled 5 times by fraggle.picsearch (not ezspider as reported) at 62.119.21.139, and 4 times by spider5.picsearch at 62.119.21.150.

I could have swore that I banned this bot before on a different IP block.

62.119.21.137
62.119.21.139
62.119.21.136

Agent: psbot/0.1 (+http://www.picsearch.com/bot.html)

Didn't look for robots.txt on my site. Completely ignored it.

psbot should follow robots.txt. However, it downloads the file once for indexing and updates it before downloading. In the time between the file is cached. When the next set of indexing starts the cache is updated again. If you which to remove pictures indexed by picsearch, please send an email to psbot@picsearch.com with the domains you which to see removed. For your convenience picsearch has switch IP block to the following: 62.119.21.128/255.255.255.224

The site is now live and can be tested on www.picsearch.com

Other questions can be sent to: info@picsearch.com

Lately my site's been hit more by picsearch than by code red, but I still don't see my logo in its listings. I don't know whether to feel slighted or relieved. :)

Just got a referral from www.picsearch.com.

Lawman, from what I can reckon, it seems that the text indexed (and therefore what is searched on) is from the alt text from the image AND the name of the image file. (it picked up 2 words as associated keywords from the image name separated by underscores). Some of the keywords are not indexed, for example, 'photograph' is not a keyword, but was listed in my alt text.

So now we have not only copyright bots spying on our work but we have a new search engine actually encouraging theft of our work.

My .htaccess file is becoming a work of art....when are they gonna start indexing those?
