The End of Excite's Free Submit

Looks like excite got rid of the free submit option.... This leaves a lot of speculation about how big of role findwhat will be playing in their new system..

I found it, couple hours ago. Took about 4 clicks, danged if I can remember where.... oh, yeah, history..

Pushing the looksmart deal, which does sort of make sense. That is a revenue split for them, yes? Hmm...makes one wonder if their are any other Excites to which a free one might get through.

They still crawl, though. Linking sites now seems even more important.

And that free page of thiers, even though you can't click through to it, does that mean our architext friend will stop by?

About the Findwhat thing, though. I have never had an account with them personally, but from what I hear about their click throughs, I'd be watching my account very, very closely come later this month when that goes live.

go to excite.com,
bottom of page link name "Submit a Site"
next page, left hand side, link named "Getting Listed"
buried in first parapgraph, click link named "submit".

Good luck. I guess it may dissappear soon, but worked for me this morning, and just now.

I had the same question a few weeks ago, Mivox helped me out. Here's how you get there.

Add info page
[excite.com...]

To left on the directory blue nav bar, select "getting listed". On the "listed" page click submit under "Add Your Site to Excite's Database", takes you to the free form.
